Singapore Airlines' budget subsidiary Scoot has announced new connections to Europe and the Philippines with addition of Vienna and Iloilo to its network.

The first of the routes – from Singapore to Vienna, Austria will be launched on June 3 with three weekly flights (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). Scoot will use its widebody Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft with 329 seats.

From April 14, the Singapore-Iloilo route will start with two weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday) before an increase to four-times weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday) from June. Scoot will use its 112-seat Embraer E190-E2 aircraft on the new route.

In a statement, Scoot Chief Executive Officer Leslie Thng said: “As the only airline offering direct flights between Singapore and Vienna, we are thrilled to introduce this new service from June, just in time for the holidays. With the launch of direct flights to Iloilo City, we also hope to inspire our customers to explore more cities within South East Asia and embark on new travel experiences.”

Suspension of Flights to Berlin and Jinan

While announcing the new routes to Vienna and Iloilo, Scoot also announced it will suspend its flights to Berlin and Jinan after their last flights on March 28 (Berlin) and Jinan (February 28).

Following the suspension of its flights to Berlin, Scoot will still have two destinations on its network in Europe – Athens and Vienna. Iloilo will be the budget airline's fifth destination in the Philippines after Manila, Clark, Cebu, and Davao.

Between Singapore and Iloilo, Scoot will compete with Philippine-based budget carrier Cebu Pacific on the route.
